68. "The Science of An Organization, Part III: Organizational Problem Solving During the ODS Process"

ABSTRACT

This is the third part in a series entitled, "The Science of An Organization". This paper examines organizational problem solving during the ODS Process. There is a typology of levels of organizational problems involving three levels in the explicate or observable realm and four levels in the hidden or implicate realm. The problem of performing a diagnosis of an organization's problems is a detective game where multiple streams of information and multiple analyses are combined to identify, formulate, decide, implement, and audit and review results. This paper contains a linear programming model to assist in developing recommended solutions to improve organizational effectiveness.
