69. "The Science of An Organization, Part II: Realizing a New Model of Organizational Learning"

ABSTRACT

The previous paper proposed a new model of organizational learning based on the idea that organizations can be viewed as a type of scientific community. This paper discusses the process designed to support applications of the new model in organizations striving to become learning organizations. The process recognizes organizations as genuine learning communities working to accomplish the goals identified in their strategic direction. It combines consulting, education, and measurement to assess: (a) how effectively the organization organizes its people, resources, technology, and strategic management processes around the actual work performed, and (b) how well the linkages that support the evolution of organizational knowledge are working.

Key Words: Organizational Diagnostic Survey (ODS) Process, Organizational Knowledge, Organization Learning, Organizational Intelligence, Double Loop Learning.
